GEA Avapac

GEA Avapac Bag Fillers, Heat Sealers and Bag Handling Equipment - GEA Avapac offers a range of system options for customers wishing to pack powdered products into bags, boxes and drums of varying size and fill weight. With a wide range of upstream and downstream equipment, we can provide a fully automated system for handling products in critical hygiene plants. The GEA Avapac range of bag fillers and heat sealers are designed to pack and close 25kg (55lb) bags with high accuracy. With our extensive experience with a wide range of powdered products and packaging types, GEA Avapac can provide a filling solution to meet the most demanding packing requirements.

At the 2009 Worldwide Food Expo, GEA Avapac will feature the advanced "Lights Out Packing" Concept. The all new GEA Avapac RBF1000 and RBF1200Li Bag Filling System sets a new benchmark for automated powder packing and bag handling. Reliable bag filling and closing, combined with an automated pallet de-stacking system has resulted in the world's first truly "lights out" packing system which eliminates the need for an operator inside the packing room. Starting at the optional fully automated pallet de-stacking systems, bags are delivered to the RBF1000 and loaded on to the filling head ready for filling and closing. Eight independently controlled bag stations are combined into a carousel to perform all bag filling, preparation and closing, whilst the bag is fully held ensuring fault free operation and thereby maximizing throughput of the bag packing plant. Well proven GEA Avapac bag sealing and closing technology has been integrated into the bag filling system to provide a very compact operation which significantly reduces the space required for production. A wireless connected operator panel can be used to monitor the packing process from a control location - which was previously only possible for large automated processing plants. Optional Ethernet connectivity enables both local and remote monitoring and data analysis using the computer SCADA system. By adding GEA Avapac downstream equipment we can provide our customers with a complete solution for fully automated bag filling, conditioning and quality checking which can be matched to any automated palletizing system.

Three new RBF1200Li Packing Lines Leave GEA Avapac. Three Fonterra lines and a further three lines now under construction for customers in the USA and Europe brings the total to 19 "Lights-Out" packaging lines.
