Hudson, WI - The popular laboratory and pilot-scale homogenizer Niro Soavi model NS2006L has been released in a new version under the new GEA Niro Soavi Energy Series Program. This versatile and improved version is complete with a feeding and re-circulation system ready for operation.

The NS2006L has become a standard tool for laboratory and small-scale production high-pressure homogenization for the pharmaceutical and biotechnological industries in North America and Europe. Its ability to test small quantities at very high pressures allows laboratory studies on particle micronization and cell rupture. The NS2006L is designed for scalability up to the total industrial size range of the Niro Soavi homogenizers.

The NS2006L design features includes:

Operation

  • Continuous operation at maximum 1,500 bar / 21,750 psi
  • Standard flow rate of 30 l/h, optional variable speed operation of 10-30 l/h
  • Operates with viscous fluids up to 7,500 cP (higher viscosities optional)
  • Operates with temperatures up to 90°C / 194°F (higher temperatures optional)

Design

  • Easy front-mounted control panel
  • Continuous variable-speed drive built-in lobe PD feed pump for wide viscosity range
  • Feeding funnel with in-line filter
  • Easy adjustable two-stage homogenizing valves
  • Easy adjustable flow-through or re-circulation system
  • Compression head and fluid path made of 316L high-alloy stainless steel in a 0.5 micron / 20 micro inch finish, optional electropolish
  • VHP multi-block compression block design
  • 3A Sanitary design
  • Prepared for CIP and easy disassembly for manual cleaning
  • Sterilizable in place (SIP)
  • Provided with all FDA-approved product contact materials
  • Hastelloy ball suction and delivery check valves
  • Ceramic piston with special Niro Soavi packing assembly
  • Abrasion- and corrosion-resistant ceramic or tungsten carbide homogenizing valves
  • One- or two-stage homogenizing valves with reversible emulsion or rupture-type valves
  • New improved noise reduction cabinet
  • Special gaskets for aggressive chemicals available
  • Optional aseptic design available, covering both plunger and homogenizing valve
  • Digital pressure-reading gauge
  • Optional pneumatic actuated homogenizing for remote control
  • Tri-clamp inlet and outlet connections
