GEA Wiegand has developed a new way to approach short path distillation / evaporation. No longer does short path distillation / evaporation require rotating elements. Evaporation at pressures as low as 0.001 mbar can now be accomplished in modified commercial sized falling film evaporators. Cases of application: Omega-3 fatty acids, separation of residual solvents, monoglycerides, vegetable / animal oils, vitamin E, etc. Pilot testing is available.
