Columbia, Maryland, September 2002
Niro Inc., a leader in drying technology, is now actively marketing its new compact spray dryer. The plant design will benefit operators all over the world in the pharmaceutical, chemical and food industries, because the dryer requires less space, makes less noise and consumes less energy than its predecessors. The new Integrated Filter Dryer - IFD - features air filters placed inside the drying chamber. This not only reduces plant size requirements and noise levels, but also improves powder quality and overall profitability by enabling operators to recover powder particles in the drying chamber itself. Based on the widely successful Fluidized Spray Dryer (FSD) principle, the IFD concept also includes an integrated fluid bed dryer. This gives operators control of product properties resulting in better and more profitable end products. Prototype testing has shown that the IFD spray dryer is suitable for a long range of food, chemical and pharmaceutical applications. We expect that the IFD spray dryer will be approved and available for the 3A/USDA dairy applications around August 2003. For further information please contact:
