New control system for Collette processors

Columbia, MD - GEA Pharma Systems today announced a new PC-based visualization and control software package for its Collette Ultima™ single pot processors and Collette GRAL high-shear mixer-granulators. The state-of-the-art PROCOLL PRO system gives a visual image of all important details, including graphical animations of the mixer and chopper, so that operators can monitor the complete process and equipment accurately. This enhancement to the Collette production units provides the standardization, reliability, and validation required by the pharmaceutical industry.

The PROCOLL PRO control system is based on Intellution software packages iBatch and iFIX, which provide standardized, reliable modules that work together with ease. GEA Pharma Systems is the only supplier of high-shear granulators and one-pot systems with a fully batch-orientated control software based on the ISA S88.01 standard for automation of batch processes.

With flexibility for complete manual operation or optional recipe-controlled automatic operation, the PROCOLL PRO control package is designed to work as a standalone system as well as a linked system integrated into a production network. Reports can be generated providing process documentation through the standard database that records all inputs, parameters and events.
