A Small Unit with Great Potential

The Panda homogenizer is a tabletop model designed for the laboratory needs of companies processing biochemicals, chemicals, cosmetics, foodstuff, and pharmaceuticals. It is a unique unit, with the ability to process small volumes of liquids and pumpable fluids, homogenizing samples at rates up to approx. 160 ml/min, at pressures that can reach 21,750 psi. The internal design has special features permitting the homogenizer to handle feeds at high viscosity up to 20,000 cP and at temperatures up to 90°C without any feeding pump. Tough construction materials enable testing of abrasive, aggressive, or corrosive fluids.

The ability to test small samples at very high pressure permits complete laboratory studies on particle micronization and, for biochemical application, cell rupture. Homogenization conditions can be optimized and the results then used in scale-up to industrial operations. The Panda is available in sanitary finish, and an aseptic version can be supplied upon request. The unit has its own CIP cleaning facility.

The Panda is an ideal piece of laboratory equipment, easy to commission and operate, and can be dismounted for maintenance and cleaning by the laboratory operator.

The Panda is supplied with an electronic digital pressure gauge (0-1600 bar) with built-in pressure pulsation damping system. The feed system is by gravity through a plastic funnel, without any feeding pump. For high viscosity products a pneumatic feeding system with jacketed stainless steel feeding hopper is available upon request. The jacket can be used both for cooling and heating the test product. An integral stainless steel casing enables easy cleaning and maintenance. The standard toothed belt direct drive incorporates an AC high-duty motor. Supplied with on-board main switch including magnetothermic motor protection. The Panda is delivered ready to use complete with a set of special tools, spare parts, and operation/maintenance manual.
