For microbial and cell fermentation 100 L - 10,000 L and beyond

GEA Diessel has a solution for all of your bioprocessing / fermentation needs because we understand bioreactors and the processes required to produce pharmaceuticals under strict cGMP guidelines.

Fermentation Systems

GEA Diessel fermentation systems are custom designed for the cultivation of microbial, yeast and fungal products. These types of processes are typically very dynamic. They have shorter duration run times because of faster cell doublings, significantly higher oxygen uptake requirements (OUR), translating into higher airflow and agitation requirements. Consequently, these types of microorganisms grow to higher cell densities and require better temperature control due to the heat generated from higher respiration rates.

Bioreactor Systems

GEA Diessel bioreactor systems have a solution for all of your cell culture needs, whether grown in suspension or on microcarrier. These types of processes require a much longer residence time within the reactor, therefore maintaining complete sterility for long periods of time is critical. We offer a magnetic seal option specifically for this type of application. Our design includes marine impellers for shear sensitivity and the system can be designed with either a porous or ring sparger.

Systems features includes:

  • Sterile design, free of dead-leg areas
  • Fully automated control system
  • High-quality components
  • cGMP documentation package

GEA Diessel fermentation systems for cultivation of microorganisms and human or animal cells have provided manufacturers of bio-pharmaceutical products maximum performance and economy for more than 20 years.
