Freeze dried products for food applications account for 2-3% of dehydrated products - however the market indicates a growth rate twice as high as the general growth rate of dehydrated products.

To serve the growing freeze-drying industry with optimal solutions and a wide product range, Atlas supplies:

  • A new series of small, competitive batch freeze driers type RAY™ 8-17-30-45 and 50 with sublimation capacities from 100 to 1000 kg per day.
  • The known range of  RAY™ 75,100 and 125 with CDI (Continuous De-Icing) has been extended to include a RAY™ 150- with sublimation of up to 7,000 kg per day.
  • The Pilot Plant - RAY™ 1- for safe upscaling and e.g. production of market samples.
  • All plants are offered with a PC/PLC system allowing remote control and long distance troubleshooting.

Freeze drying plants for bacteriological and health product industry

The world has an increasing demand for naturally preserved products of which e.g. bacteria cultures, various healthcare products and pharmaceuticals are examples. Common for these categories is the demand for highly sanitary freeze-drying installations where cleaning (CIP) and sterilisation (SIP) together with reliability are key words.

To serve this industy with optimal solutions, Atlas supplies:

  • The whole RAY™ series, as described above - from RAY™ 8 to RAY™ 150 all made of stainless steel, designed for steam sterilisation (SIP) and cleaning in place (CIP).

The consumption of instant coffee and tea has gained a good market share from the traditional product types. The consumption of freeze-dried coffee now amounts to 100,000 tons per year worldwide, and freeze-dried tea seems to gain a market too.

  • An "add-on" system for existing coffee and tea extraction plants with capacities from 1 ton per day, at a small capital risk.
