Niro Introduces breakthrough method to process whey permeateThe TIXOTHERM ProcessRealizing that the price for Whey Permeate Powder is low, many attempts have been made to develop a new production process involving;
The TIXOTHERM Process, developed by Niro (Pat. Pending) offers these advantages. The Process is simple and requires an Evaporator, Paddle Dryer, Cooling Screw Conveyor and a Drying Fluid Bed. This process eliminates the need for a separate crystallization processing step between the evaporator and dryer. It also reduces the need for a tall spray drying tower with large hot air supply, drying chamber, high pressure spray nozzle system and cyclones. Based on producing 2.5 metric tons of powder per hour (5520 lbs), Niro makes the following comparisons between the TIXOTHERM Drying Process and an equivalent Tower Spray Dryer:
A TIXOTHERM building compares very favorably when compared to the building for a traditional Spray Dryer for the same processing capacity.
A TIXOTHERM energy consumption compares very favorably when compared to the energy consumption for a traditional Spray Dryer for the same processing capacity. |
